We are a UK national children’s charity established in 1961. Originally known as The Handicapped Children’s Aid Committee, our working name changed to Lifeline 4 Kids in 2000. We help children throughout the UK and occasionally abroad. Our members work on an entirely voluntary basis and we have no paid staff or fundraisers.

We were formed for one purpose — to provide equipment to help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and special needs irrespective of race or creed.

• For the individual child we provide the full spectrum of specialised equipment such as electric wheelchairs, mobility aids and items including specialised computers and sensory toys.
• We are able to give emergency and welfare appeals immediate approval within the authorised limits of our welfare sub-committee.

Please note that we do not provide funding for building or garden works, fridges (unless for medical need) or cookers. See our guidelines.

• Schools, children’s hospices, respite care homes and support centres throughout the UK receive our help with a variety of items including playground equipment, soft play and multi-sensory rooms and special beds.
• We have in the past helped equip hospital neonatal units with the latest incubators, infusion pumps and ultrasonic monitors amongst other life saving equipment although today our main activity is to help the individual child.
• No appeal is too large or too small for us to consider.
